Indonesian Red Crescent, AMBON – After receiving a logistical assistance package from the HILMI Central Board in Jakarta, Risman S, Ambon Ar-Rahmah Assembly Representative who received it at Pattimura Airport on Monday (10/28/2019), immediately brought logistics sacks to the Haruku Island post, Rohomoni Village and Kabau.
Previously, logistical assistance was sent from Soekarno Hatta Airport by Batik Aircraft on Sunday (10/27/2019), as many as 27 Sacks (476Kg).
Rohomon villagers affected by the earthquake live on the slopes of the mountain located behind the village village, they evacuate by making tents with makeshift equipment, using tarps and frames from tree trunks and bamboo.
Inside a tent measuring approximately 5 x 7 meters it can be inhabited by up to 11 households. The density of people in tents and the fragile tarpaulin conditions and many perforations indicate poor conditions.
One of the volunteers told a story that made his heart touched when he saw in the corner of the tent there was an old woman named grandmother moti who was sitting alone, at the top of his tent he was covered with pieces of cement sacks so that the rain did not enter and disrupt his rest time. That’s the picture of those who have lost their life comfort because their houses were destroyed by the earthquake.
Distributing aid for the victims of this third earthquake, HILMI provided logistics in the form of medicines, tarpaulins, toiletries, sanitary pads, gloves, negligee, children’s sandals, towels and blankets which were handed over through village officials, volunteers, and babinsa at Raja Raja’s house Rohomoni.
During this time the type of assistance that came was focused on the type of food in the form of rice and instant noodles, while the assistance provided by HILMI this time was very much needed and was felt to help to cover the needs of the refugees who escaped attention.
The following is the Video Documentation on the Distribution of Aid to the Rohomoni Village Command Post.
